Established in 2022

Based out of Adelaide, Underground Mining Consultants was created by Simon Flint, Principal Consultant, in 2022 to assist the mining industry in meeting the demands of continued operational performance and site technical support. We can provide a range of operational and technical services to mine sites across the country.  ​

Our Goal

The mining industry is struggling to develop and maintain talent, particularly on site. We are here to help improve your operational performance, develop the next level of technical services staff for your site, and provide real world expertise across a range of activities. Mining has an important part to play for developing nations and decarbonising our activities. We want to ensure that the industry continues to innovate and succeed. ​

Our Team

Simon Flint
Principal Mining Consultant

Simon is a Mining Engineer with over 17 years of industry experience across Australia, the Middle East and Africa. Simon has gained experience in multiple underground metalliferous projects in senior operational and site management positions, technical services roles, mine planning, and drill and blast. He has seen the full life cycle of mines from brownfield start-up, restarting from care and maintenance, and at full production. He has significant multi site backfill experience in paste fill and CRF, covering a range of mining methods. Holder of a WA 1st Class Mine Managers Certificate, Simon is capable in a range of mining software including Deswik, Vulcan, Studio 5 and Surpac.  

Rachel Conway
Geologist

Rachel is a degree qualified Geologist, graduating from the University of Edinburgh in 2005. She has experience from a range of mining operations in Australia covering near mine and greenfield exploration, underground mapping, core logging and wireframing. Rachel has designed and managed deep navigational diamond drill exploration  projects as well as underground grade control drilling programs.
